Artist's Description
All started 20 years ago creating raven Christmas cards for friends who all worked at Canyon Village in Yellowstone Park back in the 70's. We had an intramural baseball team and competed with other teams from various locations throughout the park. We called ourselves, "The Raven Idiots". A common theme for creating a card; must have at least one raven, Electric Peak and the Roosevelt Arch locating in Gardiner, MT. The North Entrance to Yellowstone Park. Many old friends still live in the Gardiner/Paradise Valley area and till close friends after all these years.
About Les Herman

Les spent his childhood exploring the rim rocks surrounding Billings, Montana and in his teen years he had the good fortune of calling the North Entrance to Yellowstone Park, Gardiner, MT his home. He served in Vietnam in 1969-70 and returned to Yellowstone Park where he began his Federal career as a fire lookout on Mt.Holmes. He received his B.F.A. from the University of Montana in 1978 while working summers in Yellowstone. He had a 33 year career with the federal government in aviation support and wildland fire suppression. This provided opportunities to travel to some of the most inspiring and beautiful places in this country and the world. Les never left home without his sketch pad and watercolor kit.
