Artist's Description
A flock of ravens may also be called a "conspiracy", or an "unkindness". This is a tribute to the Blue Goose Bar in Gardiner, MT, also the North entrance to Yellowstone Park. This bar and several other business establishments were destroyed by fire this past summer. The Blue Goose was frequented by friends, friends of friends, family friends, locals, park employees, tourists, cowboys, artists and a bunch of raven idiots, all looking for a good times and a drink. We made new friends, fell in love, got in fights and just plain had too much fun. This is the "Last Christmas Conspiracy at the Blue Goose". Cheers!
About Les Herman
Les spent his childhood exploring the rim rocks surrounding Billings, Montana and in his teen years he had the good fortune of calling the North Entrance to Yellowstone Park, Gardiner, MT his home. He served in Vietnam in 1969-70 and returned to Yellowstone Park where he began his Federal career as a fire lookout on Mt.Holmes. He received his B.F.A. from the University of Montana in 1978 while working summers in Yellowstone. He had a 33 year career with the federal government in aviation support and wildland fire suppression. This provided opportunities to travel to some of the most inspiring and beautiful places in this country and the world. Les never left home without his sketch pad and watercolor kit.
